Larger fireplaces and heaters ship by freight rather than parcel carrier. The carrier contacts you to arrange a delivery window, and delivery is curbside. You will need help moving the unit inside, and someone must be present to sign.
Inspect the packaging before you sign. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt and photograph it, then contact us the same day. Signing a clean receipt makes freight damage claims very difficult to recover.

Direct vent gas units draw combustion air from outside and exhaust outside, which makes them the safest gas option for bedrooms and tightly sealed homes. Vent-free units need no chimney but are restricted or prohibited in some jurisdictions, so check your local code first. Electric units need no venting or gas line at all and install almost anywhere on a standard circuit.
Gas and wood-burning appliances should be installed by a licensed professional, and doing otherwise will usually void both the warranty and your home insurance coverage. Most electric fireplaces are owner-installable.
