The guides on HearthDepot are written and maintained by the HearthDepot Hearth Team. HearthDepot launched as a new concept, but the people behind it have worked in the hearth industry since 2019 and have delivered more than 15,000 orders to customers across the United States. We are an authorized dealer for Dimplex, Modern Flames, Empire, Superior, Majestic and Bromic, and we answer customer questions about fireplaces and outdoor heating every day, from sizing and venting to installation and freight delivery.
Every guide starts with the questions our customers actually ask in pre-sale emails and calls. We research what manufacturers publish in their specification sheets, what safety and installation standards require, and what the leading sources say. We build our own comparison tables, sizing charts and diagrams from that data rather than copying someone else's.
We use AI tools to help research, organize and draft our guides. Every specification, certification and safety statement is checked against the manufacturer's documentation in a separate review step, and safety guides get a second, independent review. A member of our team approves every guide before it is published.
Product specifications and availability come from our live catalog and manufacturer documentation; prices are always shown on the product page. When a manufacturer updates a spec sheet, we update the guide. Each guide shows its original publication date and the date of its last substantive update.
We sell the products we write about. When we recommend a product, we explain the specification or use case that justifies it, and we say when a different type of product, or one we do not carry, is the better fit. We would rather lose a sale than have you buy the wrong fireplace.
